This animated gif shows the process of drawing littlefiredragon.deviantart.co… from start to finish.
It took almost 8 hours, spread across 7 sessions.
The first four sessions are hand drawing the lines and scanning repeatedly as I go. I apologize for some of the pictures being cut off or otherwise bad; these were faulty scans.
The last three sessions are done digitally, for cleaning up and coloring.
With the exception of the last two sessions (which had only about an hour break between them), I took at least a day between sessions. Usually two days.
